Chart of the month – TV the most trusted advertising medium

Trust is key to business success. In advertising it’s an issue that cuts right through at every level. We’re not surprised by the Thinkbox “Chart of the Month” that shows how TV is the most trusted advertising medium. We see the benefits of this in our clients’ results all the time.

The best relationships are built on trust

The importance of trust cannot be underestimated. In order for us to deliver campaigns that get results, clients need to be sure that we have the knowledge and experience to give them good advice. We ask they share their data so that we can maximise their campaigns and deliver on our promise of working harder than other agencies. We know this can feel like a leap of faith but we believe it’s the key to a brilliant campaign.

Trust also works both ways, we need our clients to take our advice on board, to value response attribution, to adhere to our payment terms, to allow us to lead the campaign based on results not assumption. It’s all of this that enables us to do a good job.

Businesses need to earn consumer confidence

It’s not just the B2B relationships that rely on the confidence of both parties. Trust is hugely influential in how consumers choose who to spend their money with. It comes above most other considerations when it comes to shopping online. If a customer has faith in you, you’re already half way to your sale.

In addition to all of this, trust is something we factor in when planning media strategy. Print, TV and radio for example have far greater trust than social media (for obvious reasons). Once advertisers realise this, those low-cost clicks don’t seem so cheap after all.

Trust is a valuable commodity. It doesn’t happen overnight and takes commitment on all sides, but once you have it, trust us, everything works better.
