We’d like to send our massive congratulations to Alice who picked up a South West Leadership Award at a ceremony in Bristol last week.
The judges agreed with us that Alice is an inspirational leader. Someone who has worked to have a huge impact, not just on AJ but the advertising industry as a whole. By pioneering a model based on testing with the clear ethos of “making a difference”, Alice has positioned AJ as more than just an advertising agency. It’s under Alice’s leadership that AJ has made a real impact on our clients’ businesses. Those of us who are lucky enough to work with her continue to be inspired on a daily basis to work harder and do better.
Whilst those of us in the office were never in doubt of her success, Alice herself was a little more surprised…
“It was a real honour to be nominated for the award. In a room full of strong contenders it was a bit of a shock when my name was read out.
Leadership is something that I have stumbled into. It has been a personal journey getting to where I am now. If you had told my 18 year old self having just messed up my A levels that I would end up running my own business then I would never have believed it.
I am not a believer in ‘luck’ either good or bad. But I do believe in fortune and I have been very fortunate. My first job was in an industry that I knew nothing about but fell in love with almost immediately. This company was owned by David Attinger, who was not only a huge inspiration but he also rewarded hard work and determination with progression and opportunity. I’m incredibly fortunate to have a supportive family who understand that balancing a career and home is extremely hard and not without sacrifice. I also have a wonderful team of people to lead. The AJ staff have helped me to shape the business in a way that they are all part of. I really couldn’t be prouder of them.”
