AJ get their walking boots on…

We’ve certainly put the miles in over the past few weeks. Starting with our AJ team walk, inspired by our client Stephen Johnson from Quooker and his epic charity trek across Europe, we collectively walked a distance of over 64km. We aimed to cover the same distance walked by Stephen every single day in August, with AJ donating to his chosen charities, Grief Encounter and Friendship Circle for every staff member who participated.

By far the most impressive AJ walker of all was Media Account Manager, Kat. She rose before the sun to begin a literal marathon of a walk. Despite the beautiful Cotswold scenery, this was definitely no picturesque stroll. Twenty-six blistering miles, a rolled ankle and a biblical hailstorm meant this was a difficult trek. However, this impressive effort was for an excellent cause, raising money (£775 and counting…) and awareness of breast cancer charity CoppaFeel.

Kat says:

“Cancer affects so many people but early detection increases your chances of survival so much. Both my parents had cancer that was found early and both are now in remission.

It was a really tough challenge, I felt so proud to finish, by the 16-20 mile mark I genuinely wasn’t sure I could. My mum also kept her shoes on all day as she was expecting to have to come and rescue me…”

So, we congratulate Kat. We know how it took every ounce of strength and resilience to go the distance and she’s raised an amazing amount of money for such an important cause. If you want to donate, there’s still time https://www.justgiving.com/page/katherine-moyse-1?utm_medium=FR&utm_source=WA

The impact of these walks goes beyond impressive fundraising totals and step counts. They’ve given us a fresh perspective of what it really means to go the extra mile. This spirit of determination, empathy and collective action isn’t something that gets left on the walking trails. We’ve resolved to carry these insights forward in every aspect of our lives.
