Website design is one of our favourite challenges. It gives our creative team the opportunity to really get under the skin of a company. There’s no better way of getting to know a business than immersing yourself in the detail of how they present themselves.
With endless space for expression, good website design can really transform the fortunes of a business. For many businesses, their website is their first contact with their potential customers and when you get it right it can have a big impact. When the opportunity came to re-design the website of our sister agency, Creative Cupboard we couldn’t wait to get started.
It wasn’t an easy task. When you are so intimately involved with a project, taking a clear, objective look is difficult. Nevertheless is was a useful exercise. One that involved a lot of introspection, fair amount of internal negotiation and some real “no-holds barred” creative ideas sessions. The result? Aside from pulling together a fantastic piece of website design, we came away with a stronger sense of purpose, freshly inspired and full of confidence.
Personality led website design
The internet is awash with creative agencies telling us how great they are so it was important we showed the human side of Creative Cupboard. Creative Cupboard prides itself on being a down-to-earth design agency with no pretentiousness or egos. It was essential that came across, both in the messaging and the imagery. That’s why we were determined to design a website that had a sense of fun running through. It was this commitment to reflecting who Creative Cupboard really are that made working on this project so rewarding.
Many enjoyable hours were spent in the photography studio creating imagery that is not only impactful and engaging but shows off our personality. We laughed out loud when thinking up some of the wackier ideas (some made the final cut, some didn’t…). Whilst it was hard work, we came away with something that really gets to the heart of Creative Cupboard.
